This coffee is not comparable at all to Starbucks VIA. I tried using two tubes to make it stronger, but the flavor is just not very good. If you like Tasters Choice freeze dried, this is very similar and you might find the individual packets convenient. I will probably throw it away.

Don't waste your money on this product if you are looking for decent coffee flavor in an instant coffee...buy Starbucks instead. I used 2 packets in 8 oz. of water, double the amount called for, and still had a beverage that tasted nothing like coffee...more of a nutty flavor. Customer Review: Good coffee, but 26.3 ounces, not 32.
This coffee was very good, being at least the equal of the best of the 7 different coffees I have tried thus far here from Amazon. It was very fresh, had excellent aroma, and produced a very nice brew in my French press. Upon receipt of the coffee I noticed that the bag was nowhere near full. I have had other coffees come in less-than-full bags, but this one seemed to be way off. Since I sell merchandise online myself, I have an accurate postal scale. The "2 pound" bag came in at almost 6 ounces less than a full 32, including the weight of the bag. From previous orders from Amazon, other coffees seem to be based on the "as delivered" weight, not on some sort of weight prior to roasting. The bag itself did not have a breather, so it is hard to imagine that almost 20% of the weight was lost in shipping. Don't know what happened here but the result is that I feel I payed almost 20% more for the beans than the advertised price. I am curious if others have noticed this from this company. I would like to think that I simply got a careless shipment and not a care-less policy.

I drink Sumatran almost daily and this coffee while good lacks richness, depth and body. I like the organic, small batch roasting qualities and for the price it is a very good buy.

I was hopeful, but left unsatisfied. The color of the bean grounds says it all; a light brown not the typical dark brown to black of real espresso. Taste is weak and odd, not rich and solid. Certainly not worth the extra $$. Recommend Cafe Bustelo instead.
Customer Review: Best for authentic Italian espresso
My Italian cousin-in-law recently taught me how to make real authentic Italian espresso and cappuccino and Lavazza is her first choice over all other brands. It is so rich and smooth and I have to agree after we ran out of Lavazza and went hunting unsuccessfully for more and ended up buying two other brands. No comparison as there was such a difference in taste. I threw out the other two cans and went hunting on the internet that night and found it the cheapest on Amazon (my favorite place to shop on the Internet). Anyway, signed up for the subscription service and LOVE it. Just about when I was on my last can of Lavazza, here comes an e-mail notifying me that Amazon was about to make another shipment. Perfect timing. Love, love, love this service. By the way, my husband is a die-hard Starbucks fan (very strong coffee) and likes his best as a blend of Lavazza and Starbucks.

My machine was not assembled with much care and like some of the other reviews the hinge for the top was broken. I took my machine apart and did some sharpening to the "burrs" with a fine tooth file. The burrs in this grinder are cast and not machined, so the grinding effect is really caused by crushing whatever is fed thru. I also filed down the casting on one of the sides to improve the fit and make things go back together tighter and better. This resulted in a grinder that runs smoothly and has a fair bit of heft. I ground off the broken hinge and just use the palm of my hand to cover the top. As others have said, this grinder would be all right for coarse ground coffee. I use it to grind dry beans and rice to make my own furrina style dishes. I'm sure it would also do well for various woody seeds and herbs. I like it and I'm keeping mine. It won't do an espresso grind.

The grinder lets whole beans go through the grinder. I returned this to the seller one day after receiving it, and never heard back from them. Finally, called them, and was told that they couldn't give me a refund because it was "used." How do you try a coffee grinder without using it? Was also told that if I didn't like the way it worked, I should contact the manufacturer, as "we just sell the products, we don't manufacture them". Company is hard to get on the phone and didn't respond to e-mail. I am totally disgusted.

Customer Review: The Real Deal
This coffee is really good. I was hesitant about writing a review, but I have been through several types and brands of coffee on Amazon, other mail order sites, and local grocery stores offerings without anything that matched this coffee. That along with having let several people try this coffee and everyone that has ever tried it goes on about how good it is prompted me to put in my 2 cents in on a review. The taste is full bodied without the bitter bite. This coffee reminds me of the type of coffee you get and the end of a high dollar meal. It has a richness of taste that comes thru unlike an over the counter type franchised coffee. I use this coffee at home with a drip coffee maker with screen only type filter and get great results. I also use this coffee at the office with a French Press and get incredible results. At the office, even the "coffee snobs" agree this is really good coffee and end up buying it for themselves. Personal tastes differ, but I think it would be hard to go wrong with this coffee. The regular roast of this coffee seems a shade darker than other regular roasts and the beans arrive with that oily texture/sheen you would expect with a fresh quality coffee.

The coffee is excellent. I was a little confused with the packaging. When I bought this somewhere else it was in boxes of 25 cups and marked as dark coffee. This package comes in 18 cups and is marked as medium coffee. The lower rating for the price and amount of cups.

I received my order of four (4) packs of this coffee yesterday and today, upon opening the bricks that were shrink-wrapped together, I noticed that one of the individual packages was clearly not vacuum sealed. Sure enough, at the bottom of the package, I could see a slice from what was most likely a straight razor used to open a box. Hmm...out with that package. (I should add that the shipping box was was in perfect condition.) Understandably, this type of thing can happen with packaging / stocking. Still, I'm a little disappointed that on my first order, only 3 out of 4 packages are any good.

We just got this yesterday and had some this morning. It is probably one of the best coffees I have ever tasted! It is perfectly balanced with a nice round taste and feel that is full bodied. No acidity at all, just creamy goodness. There is a wonderful taste nuance involved that is characteristic of a fine wine. I can not believe the price for this! I spent for 2 pounds less than what I have paid for 1 pound of other coffees and enjoyed this every bit as much or more. A definite keeper for my morning java.

It's hard to tell if this is a truly good coffee. It very may well be when the beans are fresh. As soon as I opened the bag there was that vague smell, almost musty and definitely stale. I made a pot anyway. (I'm cheap that way.) Honestly, the stale smell is not evident after brewing but this is a mediocre coffee at best. Maybe it would be better if the beans had been fresh, maybe not. The flavor is almost rich, almost dark, almost really good. It just somehow misses the mark. The beans themselves were, aside from the smell, decent; uniform, a good color and firm. I've had much better coffee and I've had much worse.

I've tried a variety of fair trade and organic K-Cup coffees now, and this is hands-down my favorite. The price is great through the Amazon subscription, too. Only complaint is that I can't recycle the plastic. If I could do that, compost the grounds, and recycle the foil top, I'd feel less wasteful.

These espresso pods produce a good taste and nice crema from my basic espresso maker. The only slight problem is they don't exactly fit in the e.s.e. pod holder of my machine so I balance them on top of the holder before installing to brew. I haven't had this trouble with any other brand...and I've tried every brand in the sampler bag from podmerchant.

As a disclaimer, I have a Senseo coffee pod machine, so of course the Senseo pods fit quite well. The problem with these pods is that they are not advertised for a specific machine but don't fit the Senseo machines. I've purchased all sorts of different pods to get different flavors or varieties that have fit the Senseo machine just fine, so why can't Java One make pods that fit? The pods are really good tasting (er' I mean the coffee in them..) but if you use them with the Senseo they actually become dangerous, breaking the lid seal and popping the top of the machine thus spraying hot water everywhere. So, Senseo owners, seek elsewhere.

I used to be a super coffee snob - buying green coffee beans and roasting them at home. It was tedious, but with a good espresso blend it would make one heck of a cup of joe. Then due to the economy I needed to scale back, so I tried Folgers Black Silk after seeing an ad (this is when it was first launched). I became immediately hooked and it is now the only coffee I drink when I brew at home. If you use a French Press, you're in for a treat. Black Silk excretes a delightful nutty oil when allowed to steep that those using filtered brewers will miss out on. This coffee is strong, deep, dark, smooth, and delicious.

This coffee was recommended by a coffee addict with broad experience. It is the favorite coffee in our house. It is very a smooth-tasting brew. LaVazza is not available in our area, so the internet is our best means of getting it. It shipped/arrived very quickly, and it's worth the effort to order online.

Disappointing taste, disappointing response by seller. Opened the 2-lb. bag of beans, and there was no aroma. Made my cappuccino & my husband's black espresso: no pleasing flavor, in fact unpleasant flavor. Tried again, to be certain. Not good! Mailed entire bag back at my expense, as no answer via phone on Friday evening & wanted to get it over and done with. Received call a few days later from a rude and insulted rep. who chastised me for returning without authorizarion. The policy is no returns on coffee. Refused me a credit or even in-house credit. I let my platinum credit card handle it, the seller has the coffee beans and my money!

I drink tea every day, but I do enjoy the occasional cup of coffee every once in a while. Because of that, I can justify paying premium prices for good coffee. Let me tell you, this coffee is worth its weight in gold. I had actually purchased the coffee without realizing that the beans were whole-bean. I quickly purchased a grinder. The grinder came four days after the coffee did. If I had known how good this coffee was beforehand, those four days would have been torture. Mind you, I'm basing this review on the fact that I have only brewed one pot so far, but one pot was all it took. This coffee is amazingly silky smooth and doesn't leave a harsh aftertaste like other coffees. It's a little on the light side, so if you like your coffee strong, I'd recommend about 1.5-2 rounded tablespoons per cup. I am definitely a believer in Kona Coffee now. I will be buying more of this in the future for myself and as gifts, though I'll probably use it before I have a chance to give it out.

I found this to be a smooth, rich tasting blend that I would purchase again. I brew in a coffee press. I filled a clamp-lid cannister with beans, and placed the rest in zipper-type freezer bags and thawed them out as needed. This seemed to hold the flavor and freshness in acceptable fashion, as I am not going to use five pounds of coffee beans in an overly-prompt way. I use enough where this quantity lasts me about 6 weeks.

I am not a coffee gourmet. However, I tend to like a strong, not to bitter taste. I had been ordering another brand/variety, and it was out of stock so tried this. I'm glad I did. It has a nice robust flavor. As well, how I would discribe a nuttier taste, not strong, not fruity, just more of knowing it comes from a bean --if that makes sense. As it says, it is ~NOT~ a flavored coffee which is a good thing for me --I don't like the flavored items. I plan on buying more. How I use it: I have a large coffee press. I use 4 scoops and make one large mug. One could use 3 and be well satisfied. More than 4, and you'd have to really like strong, twice brewed stuff. I let it sit for 3-6 minutes, pending how the morning is going. 3 min is the minimum, more than 6 and it may get too bitter.

Customer Review: Great! One of my favorite flavored coffees!
If you like other Green Mountain flavored coffees, especially if you like the other seasonal light-roast flavors, you will probably like this one. I really liked the Green Mountain Blue-Berry and thought I would try this and am very pleased. It seems like a great fit for the fall. The flavor and aroma seem a bit stronger than in the blue-berry. Like the blue-berry, this is a light roast. At first I thought light would mean weak, but it seems like the perfect match for the flavor so that it is still coffee and nicely flavored without either over-powering the other. It is nothing like a starbucks. So if you want a strong coffee taste above all, then this isn't one for you, but if you want a nice flavored light coffee, I think it is great. Like other flavored coffees, you should only brew this on the normal default coffee cup size (6oz) on the Keurig brewer or you will water it down if you use the mug size or larger.

This has a nice selection of coffees to get one started. It is nice to try the different varieties before being committed to a big box of one flavor. I would check locally though. I just purchased this exact item (minus the 2 tea bags) yesterday at a certain well known bed and bath store for $29.99. It is completely overpriced on Amazon Marketplace. I would have given the item 5 stars, if not for the inflated pricing here. Two organic tea bags (in my opinion) are not worth the extra $$$ being asked here.

Illy can be celebrated as the creator of coffee pods, the best way to get a decent espresso (but not a great espresso)without being a full fledge barista and a US$ 10.000 espresso machine. Illy are the most expensive pods, however they come in a metal can packed in bulk. Other coffee pods come individually packed in sealed bags with nitrogen atmosphere, but Illy packs them in bulk. I have been buying whole organic coffee beans for a few years because organic doesn't seem to bother my stomach like regular beans would tend to do. I have been drinking this coffee for a couple weeks and enjoying it very much. The taste is great, it's not too strong or weak - will definitely buy it again!
Customer Review: A bit "Hit or Miss"
I have been chasing that perfect cup for some time now, lately through Amazon by buying and splitting the bags with a neighbor. I use a press, the neighbor goes drip. The first bag of this Sumatra was the best consumer coffee that either of us had ever found. It shipped to us extremely fresh, still working off gas in the bag and foaming in my press pot. The aroma from the bag was strong and wonderful and it carried through to the press and into the cup. Bag #1 was easily the best coffee either of us had ever brewed. The second bag was quite a disappointment, not stale but also not really fresh, with only marginal aroma in the bag and not even recognizable as coffee in the cup. However, even at that the flavor still matched up close to our previous best finds here at Amazon- about the Fogbuster level. We decided to give it another try, and bag #3 was somewhere in between, but still only a pretender when compared to that first bag. One interesting thing about this coffee, which I have experienced with no other: I am single and make a press first thing in the morning. Then (coffee connoisseurs stop reading now) warm additional cups up in the microwave as the morning goes on. Something about this coffee takes the microwave rewarming far, far better than any other coffee I have ever used. I don't understand why, but it does- all the way into the evening if need be (OK, I'll admit it, sometimes even overnight). Single guy, what can I say, but that is a significant bonus for me. My shipments come from Lexington, KY. I assume Amazon has warehouses around the country. Part of my fresh/not-so-fresh problem might be due to the volume consideration and turnaround at that particular warehouse. We have decided to give the Sumatra one more try but I feel we will more than likely be moving along after bag #4. I'll let you know how it goes.

Although the package says this is a medium roast, it definitely tastes like a breakfast blend or even lighter. Increasing the amount of the coffee brewing makes it taste worse instead of a little stronger.
