The kona coffee is great. I like the darker and full body of this brand. I am a
strong coffee drinker. My only problem with getting a monthly package is that I
am the only coffee drinker in my home. If I want to try other coffees I
gradually accumulate this one brand.

CP Kona Blend Extra Bold is a great value for what you get! This hawaiian blend
is a great wake-me-up and the 50 ct box is a great value! I saved almost 10

Do not purchase this particular flavor of coffee pod. I thought my coffee maker
was broken but actually the Small Village Blend of coffee came out very light
requiring me to toss the entire box.

Customer Review: Great concept but poor design!
I ordered 2 wands... they work great but they did not last very long. The
fragile glass straws are very long and extend past the cup edge about 4" and are
awkward to drink from. The first one broke when my cup was sitting on the
kitchen counter and my daughters sleeve got caught on the protruding straw and
knocked it to the ground! The second one broke while doing dishes. I was a bit
disappointed since they did work so my husband took the little filter off the
bottom and went to the hardware store to look for a replacement straw. He came
back with an aluminum tube version and a clear flexible acrylic tube version. My
favorite is the clear tube and think that this should have been how they
designed it in the first place. It is flexible, light weight and can be cut to
any length!
Customer Review: Clever - but looks a little too much like a crack pipe
I ordered 2 of these - one for me and one for my father in law. I thought it
might be handy for the office and/or camping or just on the road. The filter
does work really well, and the straw pulls out so you can wash everything
easily. You must keep the case it comes in for it to be portable as the straw is
made of glass. Plus the case has a little compartment on one end to store coffee
grounds or tea leaves on-the-go. Drinking coffee/tea through a straw is better
for your teeth - and since I am whitening right now (and not supposed to be
drinking coffee as it is) it's a must for me. Drinking a hot beverage isn't too
bad through the straw unless it's searing hot. You get used to it. I use mine
mostly for tea at the office. One of my workers pointed out that it looks a bit
like a crack pipe - yes that was nice of him. Now, I don't have much experience
with crack pipes myself but from what I've seen on Law and Order SVU or CSI or
whatever it is, I'm probably going to agree with him. Ever since then I've been
a little self conscious about using it at work - and then going to rinse it off
in the kitchen. Oh what people must think! But if the thought of drinking
through a crack pipe in public doesn't bother you and you'd like on-the-go
convenience for your favorite coffee and tea - this is a great little product.

Customer Review: No excuse for this much trans fat
Big Train's mixes taste pretty good, but there's no excuse for the huge amounts
of trans fat they contain. According to a nutritionist friend, even made with
skim milk they are, nutritionally, heart attack city! (I'm surprised that they
haven't changed their formulas simply so that they can be sold in the city of
New York.) And I don't want Big Train to give me a big caboose. So, I'm holding
off on buying more of this. I'll mix up my own smoothies until they make their
product more healthy.

Taster's Choice Gourmet Roast isn't as dark and heavy duty as some ground French
or Italian dark roasts, but it's my choice for instant, far surpassing others.
For some reason I can't find it locally anymore in Seattle. It may be the $9
price tag. The only problem is that it's made by Nestle'.

I have been a coffee 'connoisseur' for years. I have gone to great trouble to
find the best bean...grind it perfectly...and brew it to perfection with the
perfect, spare no expense, coffee maker. All the while my mom used this INSTANT
coffee (blasphemy!!) called "Taster's Choice", despite my constant ridicule.
Well somewhere in a weak moment, or perhaps I was out of my Jamaican blend that

grinder & pot are in the garage now, and although I still have guests that

This is great espresso! The flavor is very smooth and the pods are very easy to

I bought this after reading many reviews and I am glad that I did, the quality
of this Espresso is EXCELLENT, I am almost addicted to it now because it is so
good, I constantly want to have another, I also bought the Starbucks Espresso

My husband and I have been addicted to this coffee since we first started buying

Review: Spotty results with Senseo machine & flavor is only so-so
I don't see that these pods are advertised as fitting the Senseo machine so I'm
not rating them lower--wouldn't be fair. One out of 4 or 5 times, I get a
satisfactory cup of coffee--the other times, I get mostly water and a few drops
of dark coffee at the end of the cycle. So I'm mostly rating them here for
taste, which I think is pretty artificial vanilla-y. I use the 2-cup pod holder
with the Senseo (these pods do NOT fit in the 1-cup holder, as they're fatter
than Senseo pods and rounded on both sides), and use the one-cup button. I
actually get better coffee by using the two-cup button -- it seems that the
one-cup button doesn't get the hot water pushed sufficiently through the pod.
Aggravating when I use half milk and only want the amount of coffee that is made
with the one-cup button. I won't buy these again.

This coffee is exceptional. Espresso dark and deep yet smooth. My only other
comment is that this should properly be called an Italian roast as this is
clearly beyond a French Roast.

Without a doubt, this is the smoothest whole bean coffee I've ever tasted. I
don't know what biodynamic means, but it's delicious! For a French roast, it's
not that bold. I use a Mr Coffee grinder (which I've reviewed in the past) and a
Melitta single-serving drip cone. It's a basic setup. But everyone who's tried
it RAVES about it. Even the cream&sugar crowd can drink this black. This is the
perfect coffee to get non-coffee drinkers hooked. It tastes almost as good as it
smells. The beans have an oily sheen. I don't know if that's some sort of edible
sealant to keep the volatile flavor oils from wafting away, or if the beans are
so full of flavor it's exuding from the surface. Either way, this is a winner. I
haven't subscribed yet because I'd like to try the other Cafe Altura products
before I commit to just one, but this one's certainly at the top of my list.
I've ordered this one 4x already. I've noticed this thing has gotten pricier
since the first time I bought it. I got two 32oz bags the first time appeared on
Amazon. That's okay though. It's still cheaper than Trader Joe's and definitely
tastier.

This little guy pulverizes my coffee beans and is a great asset to my making a
successful shot every single time! I very happy with this coffee grinder. I have
two others that just could not grind my beans the proper way to make expresso
with. Update: What a short life this grinder had. While it worked, it was
excellent. It just could not take the work-out I gave it. It was great while it
lasted (1 month). I took my five stars away and am replacing with two due to
having to trash the item.

create democratic cooperatives that insure fair dealing, accountability and
transparency in trade transactions. In an industry where the farmer is
traditionally ripped off by a host of middlemen, this is tremendously important.
Cooperatives are examined by the Fairtrade Labeling Organization (FLO), or the
International Fair Trade Association (IFAT), European NGOs, for democratic
process and transparency. Those that pass are listed on the FLO Registry or
become IFAT members. Cooperatives provide important resources and organization
to small farmers in the form of technical assistance for crop and harvest
improvement, efficiencies in processing and shipping, strength in negotiation
and an array of needed social services, such as health care and credit. Fair
Trade also requires pre-financing of up to sixty percent of the value of the
contract, if the farmers ask for it. Several groups, such as Ecologic and Green
Development Fund have created funds for pre-finance lending.
Customer Review: A Good Read on Culture, not a Text Book on Fair Trade
Coffee
Dean Cycon's book is a good read on the various cultures of people who produce
coffee. It is a sample in every way, shape, and form of people, travel and
coffee. Dean takes the reader on some of his many travels and tells about the
experiences he has. He is a bit self-absorbed and does not seem to do too well
at looking at both sides of a story. Take the book for what it is, a tale of a
person developing relationship with coffee growers, not an investigative story
or fair trade primer. If you are trying to understand where coffee comes from,
the complexities of the coffee trade, and the lives of the people who produce
coffee, this is one book you should definitely read. I would highly recommend
reading Brewing Justice: Fair Trade Coffee, Sustainability, and Survival first.
You will then understand fair trade, certified organic, and the many forces that
impact the lives of growers (in that case, in Southern Mexico). Read Dean's book
to understand one man's quest to make the world a little better for people who
most have us have not bothered to care about. Dean's a gutsy guy, is doing some
good stuff, and that excuses a little bit of ego in my book. Keep up the good
work in the third world Dean.
Customer Review: Exploring the conscience of coffee
As one reviewer wrote, there is a lot of "I" talk in this book. Yes, and that is
to be expected, given that Dean is writing about his travels. The topic of fair
trade coffee, and what it means in the life of the farmers Dean writes about, is
obviously a crucial part of his existence. If he didn't care so much, Dean would
not have gone out on a limb with the public statements about Newman's Own and
their relationship with Green Mountain, who buy a much smaller percentage of
their coffee at fair trade prices. The writing here is touching, and funny, and
should be required reading for coffee drinkers. Dean describes some harrowing
experiences (roads where people fear to tread due to bandits and militia), as
well as scenes of humor (being kept awake by the gospel rock band and
mispronouncing crucial words at meetings of farmers). The writing is thoughtful.
Must fair trade pricing take into account the factors (such as inherent
corruption) in particular countries? Even the "coyote" middlemen are given an
alternate consideration. We can only hope that Dean will take his company public
one day, use that new cash and clout to get into the major supermarkets, and
increase the amount of fair trade coffee his company can buy and the farmers can
sell, and thereby improve their lives and the lives of their children.

Customer Review: GOOD COFFEE
I enjoyed this coffee, my favorite was the Sumatra blend but this was a close
second. It is your typical cup of coffee, a bold but smooth taste. Good for the
average drinker as it is strong but not over powering and it doesn't give you
that strong caffeine kick, like you get with the Sumatra blend. It brews
perfectly every time,consistent and never watered down. So much better than it's
rival the k-cup and the Keurig.

up and rude service. Abviously they don't need the business. "
Customer Review: My favorite K-cup
This is my all-time favorite k-cup flavor. I could easily drink 5 a day but
instead consider them a treat 1-2 times a day. Wish they were sold by Amazon
directly to save $$ but I rationalize that if I bought one in the local coffee
shop it would be $2 more per cup and this stuff is better than many coffee shops
can produce.
