The Cuisinart Grind & Brew is another regrettable case of a product which fits my Gram's Pretty Is as Pretty Does saying. Unfortunately, Cuisinart needs to take another shot at coffee fame with this luxury model ~ in short, it does make coffee, but the fact is, the coffee is neither very hot, nor does it taste any better than coffee from a $30 model.

Pros: Brew time was very quick; Grinding is not too loud, Coffee tastes excellent, Machine looks great on my counter, easy to clean.

Cons: Coffee is not hot enough. Considering there is no warming plate you will have to microwave your cup to get it hot. If you add the slightest bit of milk or cream it will make the cup luke warm at most. Due to the special design on the carafe, you will have to turn the carafe almost completely upside down to get the last 4 cups out. I understand that this design is necessary in order to keep the heat in the pot.

There are useful features, such as a brew strength choice of Mild, Medium or Strong. Brew-pause which allows you to remove the carafe mid brew to our your first cup; and of course a clock to program your brew.

The Bottom Line: All in all, I would definitely recommend this machine as it makes a great tasting cup of coffee.

Pros: Makes great cup of coffee... allows a lot of control over strength.

Cons: So many pieces in this machine, worried it'll break. Very technical when first opened.

The Bottom Line: This machines so much fun to use. Its also beautiful sitting on counter. Haven't gotten bad cup yet. Once you find the strength you like your set.

Had unit for about 6 mos. & worked great 'til recently when buttons don't always work. Pressing start sometimes doesn't do a thing for what seems like minutes(?) when you can not press any buttons at all during that time. Then it starts to work.

There is condensation in the clock window as well. Other times unit starts almost immediately (w/i seconds)

If you don't realize that when the grinder starts making a different sound that unit needs to be cleaned, you will think it's broken but it's not. Just follow the enclosed directions (came in box) or follow the directions that I wrote in response to one reviewer here. You might find your own system of cleaning.
Pros: strength & grind controls for a great cup; less mess than using a separate grinder

Cons: Have for 6 mos. worked great. now buttons don't always work

The Bottom Line: Yes, I would purchase again because when it worked perfectly, I was thoroughly delighted.
