Costa Rica Coffee Reviews - Tres Rios

Costa Rica coffee is a great all around coffee with good balance, acidity, body and character, with a hint of spice and some nutty overtones.

Costa Rica over a hundred years ago, mandated that every family grow at least a few bushes of coffee on their property. Additionally, they offered large plots of land to those who would be willing to grow coffee and devote their lives to it.

The result is that today Costa Ricans knows their coffee. They treat their coffee plantations as though they were fine tropical gardens. We only buy the best beans that Costa Rica has to offer!.

Costa Rica neighbors are Nicaragua in the north and Panama in the east and south, the Pacific Ocean to the west and south and the Caribbean Sea to the east.

A series of volcanic mountain chains runs from the Nicaraguan border in the north-west to the Panamanian border in the south-east, splitting the country in two.

In the center of these ranges is a high-altitude plain, with coastal lowlands on either side. Which make perfect growing conditions for high quality SHB coffees.

Costa Rica is the only country in the world which has issued an executive order (N°19302-MAG, 4 December 1989) banning the production of any variety of coffee other than Arabica. This standard is made possible by the expertise, experience and favorable physical conditions which converge in this remarkable land.

Coffee production has played a key role in Costa Rica's history and economy and by 2006 was the third cash crop export. The largest coffee growing areas are in the provinces of San José, Alajuela, Heredia, Puntarenas, and Cartago.

Costa Rica is famous for its gourmet coffee beans, with Costa Rican Tarrazú among the finest Arabica coffee beans in the world used for making espresso coffee, together with Jamaican Blue Mountain, Guatemalan Antigua and Ethiopian Sidamo.

The Tres Rios region coffees are considered the 'Saint-Emilion' of Costa Rica.

Located in the lush and beautiful Central Valley and the San Jose Metro Area, Tres Rios is a tiny town in Cartago province.

Lying in Costa Rica's main coffee growing region, San José is known to produce some of the best coffee in the country and is exported all over the world.

Situated in a gorgeous area with rolling green hills, Tres Rios sits 11 km east of Downtown San Jose and some 10 odd kilometers west of the town of Cartago.

Choose Always Premium Quality - Never Less

To savor the rich aroma and full gourmet taste of Costa Rica Tres Rios Coffee, it is suggested that you purchase your coffee from a reputable distributor.

Of course, I also recommend you purchase only the premium gourmet quality Costa Rica Tres Rios Coffee beans not the lower grades used for commercial blending.

Here's another tip for you have a little fun with your Costa Rica Tres Rios. Drop a square of sweet Swiss chocolate and a mound of heavy whipped cream into your cup to make your own nasty coffee desert. You may think twice before you share, but once you serve it to your guests and you'll make friends for ever.

Also, I encourage you to try the Costa Rica Tres Rios from the CoffeeSnoop Link Sponsors. They also sell premium gourmet quality Costa Rica Tarrazu Coffe at very competitive prices.
