Coffee Beans Congensis Review
Characteristics:
Coffee beans congensis is also known as Congo
Coffee. It is grown predominately in the
Democratic Republic of Congo, where it
was originally discovered in the late
1800s. Its small narrow leaves and large
white flowers identify Coffea Congensis.
They usually form in sets of two to
four, creating a small cluster.
Where it is Planted:
Coffea Congensis is planted in tropical
and subtropical climates. It needs a
moderate amount of rain to thrive. This
plant is sensitive to temperature
fluctuations greater than 20 degrees.
Additionally, any exposure to frost will
kill the plant.
Congo Coffee plants have thick burrowing
roots that make greenhouse growing
difficult. Some cultivators have found
that a floorless greenhouse can easily
accommodate the plant. However, even
this poses a problem, as the roots have
been known to destroy even the outer
walls of the structure.
How it Tastes:
Coffea Congensis has a bold, earthy
flavor and can be compared to the
flavors of Coffea Robusto. Coffea
aficionados will notice that Coffea
Congensis does not have a burnt flavor
like Coffea Robusto, however. It is
sometimes blended with other beans to
tame this flavor.
Blending with Other Beans:
Coffea Congensis is often blended with
smooth, light coffees. It is most
commonly blended with Coffea Liberica.
In some instances, it may blended with
robust coffea varieties to produce a
strong, bold coffee blend. However, may
people will find that option too bold.
Coffea Congensis is high in caffeine but
the caffeine levels are still lower than
Coffea Benghalensis.
