Coffee Beans Bonnieri Review
Characteristics:
Coffee beans bonnieri is grown primarily
in Northern Madagascar. Its large, dark
green leaves are one way to recognize
this variety of coffea. It also has
small clusters of white flowers around
the cherries. However, the Bonnieri
plant is sometimes confused with other
coffea plants. There are not any
definitive distinguishing
characteristics for this plant.
Where it is Planted:
Coffea Bonnieri needs a tropical or
sub-tropical climate to thrive. While
the plant can grow with very little
water, this may affect the taste of the
coffea when brewed. An area with at
least two inches of rain per month is
ideal for this coffea plant.
This plant is also very hearty and
fertile while planted. Coffea Bonnieri
can withstand temperature fluctuations.
Since Coffea Bonnieri has large thick
roots, it is not conducive to greenhouse
growing, unless the cultivator is
willing to build a specialized
greenhouse that is extremely expensive.
How it Tastes:
Coffea Bonnieri has a bold flavor
considered stronger than other coffea
varieties. Coffee enthusiasts may enjoy
the slight burnt flavor of this coffea
when it is brewed alone. However, the
strong flavor can be tamed by adding a
mild coffea variety to it prior to
brewing or by adding creamer and sugar.
Blending with Other Beans:
Coffea Bonnieri blends well with many
coffea varieties. However, it is most
commonly blended with Coffea Liberica
and is used in a number of International
coffee varieties. Coffea Bonnieri is
also sometimes used as high quality
filler with other coffeas, including
designer blends.
