The Bodum coffee press history:

In 1982 Bodum took over a small clarinet factory in Normandy who coincidentally produced the same coffee press as they did, the Bodum Chambord French coffee press.

Quickly they started mass producing these unique French press coffee brewers, whose refined quality made them a household item for coffee lovers all over the world.

The original design has been kept intact and the Chambord is created with the same care and craftsmanship of the past.

A Bodum users guide

The Bodum Coffee Press unlike any other coffee maker you ever owned has a totally different way to be operated.  Directions for use of Bodum French Press Coffee Makers:

1.  Place pot on a flat, non-slip, dry surface.

2. Firmly hold handle and pull plunger unit straight upwards and out of the glass cylinder.

3. Put in one rounded tablespoon of coarse ground coffee into the pot, for every 4 oz. cup.

4. Let boiling water cool of a bit and pour hot into the glass/pot, leaving least 1 inch of space at the top. Use a plastic spoon to stir or chop sticks.

5. Put plunger unit back on top of the glass/pot. Close spout opening by burning the lid.

6. Do not press plunger down yet, let the coffee brew for 4 minutes.

7. Turn the spout away from you and hold the handle firmly. For best results, very slowly push the top knob down to press the plunger straight down into the pot.

Attention: Using of excessive force may cause very hot liquid to spray out from the pot.

8. To pour your coffee, just turn the lid to open the spout.

9. The filter and plunger must be cleaned after each use. Unscrew both and wash, all parts are dishwasher safe.
